Chris Dwyer, Executive Director
Chris
Dwyer brings to the Community Conservatory his passion for the arts,
as well as an entrepreneurial spirit and extensive non-profit business
management experience.
As a graphic designer and classically trained painter with a Bachelors
degree in Fine Art from Tyler School of Art, Chris most recently
served as the executive director of the Whitemarsh Art Center in
Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania where he made available fine arts education
to more than 1800 children and adults each year.
Prior to his Whitemarsh position, Chris headed the development
efforts for Child, Home & Community of Doylestown. For nearly
a decade, he was instrumental in growing the organization by establishing
solid relationships with foundations, businesses and local community
partners. While at CHC, Chris also developed and piloted the agency’s
first “Fatherhood Program” that provided educational
and employment services for teen dads. The program, which continues
today, equips young men with the skills and resources necessary
to successfully complete their education and effectively parent
their children.
Before his tenure with CHC, Chris founded two successful commercial
arts ventures including a fine art gallery and studio facility in
Jenkintown that he converted from a post-World War II gun manufacturing
shop into twenty-seven artist studios and public exhibition space.
His second enterprise was a graphic design and creative personnel
placement firm headquartered in Blue Bell with offices in Atlanta,
Boston, Orlando and Washington that served more than 700 companies.
Chris is a resident of Buckingham and remains actively engaged
with organizations throughout the Delaware Valley volunteering his
design and management skills to non-profits and parochial schools.
