Eduard N. Shvarts - Cello

Eduard Shvarts was born in Sevastopol, Crimea. He began his studies in Murmansk, continuing his studies at the Music College of Vladivostok, the Academy of Arts of Vladivostok, the Academy of Art at Kharkov, Ukraine, where he studied with Professor Shelkanovtseva, and continued his education at Gnessin Academy in Moscow, with Alexander Gottgelf.
In the USA Eduard Shvarts studied in Duquesne University class of Adam Liu (well known cellist in the World, student of Lynn Harrell , Stephen Kates and Paul Tourtelier).

Currently Eduard still does his special Professional Study program with great cello teacher, Jeffrey Solow(student of legendary Gregor Piatigorsky).

Eduard N. Shvarts won first prize in the Russian String Players Competition in 1991. He has performed concertos of Johann Christian Bach, Camille Sent-Sans, and Dvorak as soloist in Europe and America.
He has played chamber recitals throughout the world, including Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Finland, Poland, France, Mexico, Canada, and Switzerland.

In 2006, he participated in the Toronto Summer Music Academy and Festival with Janos Starker and Roman Borys. He has accompanied, in concert, some of the most famous musicians of the world, including Victor Tretiakov, Natalia Gutman, Gidon Kremer, Mstistlav Rostrapovich, Isaac Perlman, Misha Maisky, and Mikhail Pletnev. He has performed chamber concerts with famed artists Natalia Gutman and Ekaterina Derzhavina. He was a member of the chamber orchestra Amadeus Moscow, the Moscow Metro-Philharmonic International Youth Orchestra, the Hungarian Philharmonic Festival Youth Orchestra, the International Philharmonic Festival Orchestra, the Moscow Philharmonic, the Stanislavsky Ballet-Opera Orchestra, and the Bolshoi Theater Orchestra.

In Mexico Eduard performed interesting project "Solo Bach"
Suites by I.S. Bach for cello solo with "Alsurdanza Contemporary Ballet" Choreography.

He was on the faculty of Music school No 104 in Moscow
Secuny School of Fine Arts and Mejorada Music school, Yucatan, Merida.

- Agnes Grossman, Artistic Director of the Toronto Summer Music Academy and Festival said that Mr. Shvarts “is a committed and talented musician”.

- Janos Starker wrote that Mr. Shvarts “is a highly accomplished cellist and musician”.

- Christopher Collins Lee has written that Mr. Shvarts “is an exceptionally hard worker, in addition to being an excellent cellist”.

- Violinist and music critic Joseph Gold has said that Mr. Shvarts “is a cellist of high qualities. He is a fine section player, and also an elegant and expressive solo cellist”.

-Jeffrey Solow wrote : “Mr. Shvartz is an excellent cellist who, as you probably know, has a great deal of professional orchestral experience in the US, Russia and in Mexico."

- Music Director Tonasz Golka says after performances of Eduard :” Eduard is an excellent cellist. He plays with a warm sound and very solid intonation, and he is an intelligent and diligent musician”.

Currently Eduard N Shvarts is a member of the Bay Atlantic Symphony Orchestra (acting principal cellist), and professor of cello in Community Conservatory in Doylestown, PA. USA.

He is also a member of several professional orchestras and chamber music groups in the U.S.
