Mort Metersky

Mort Metersky¹s philosophy of photography is to "KEEP IT SIMPLE,
INTERESTING and COLORFUL". He looks for pieces of the whole that might make
an interesting image, rather than the whole object. He has learned that one
can bring out an objects innate colors by manipulating the image in Adobe Photoshop.
Images can be real, surreal or abstract.
Mort¹s serious photography
started when he joined the Newtown Camera Club in 1995. He has Best Print of the
Year and many other awards as well as serving as club president.
Mort¹s
work has been exhibited at the Martin Gallery at Muhlenberg College in Allentown,
PA, the Daily Grind in Hatboro, PA, Bell¹s Tavern in Lambertville, N. J.,
the Churchville, Camera Club, the Umbrella Gallery in Union Square, Sabina Rose
Art Gallery and Triumph Brewery in New Hope, Pa.
He has juried shows at
Gallery 125 in Trenton and was the featured artist at the Broad Street Art Gallery
in Quakertown, PA. He has also shown his work in the Gallery on Lafayette in Trenton,
N. J., the Warminster Library, the Store Front Art Gallery in Ambler, PA, and
in an International show in New York City. in June 2006. Mort had a one man show
at the Medical Healing Arts Gallery Doylestown, the Gratz College Art Gallery,
and the Stover Mill Gallery in Tinicum, PA.
Mort has taught a courses
in photography and another on mixed media visual arts at the Center for Learning
in Retirement hosted at Delaware Valley College, the YMCA in Warminster and is
currently a faculty member at the Community Conservatory. |
